I am from the Old fart generation so my opinion is two sided. I have most of the latest technology including a cell phone, two computers LCD TV etc; and I can truthfully say for business they may be needed but to me it is way too much communication. When your young it is great to talk to friends, but as you get older, you want privacy and sometimes to just be left alone, I don't want people to get a hold of me, I value private time, so leave a text message because I keep it off most of the time. The cell phone makes communication instant. It also has created some real rude individuals. I could care less about someone Else's conversation if they would only speak a little lower. Driving and Talking on the phone is dangerous. Handling a 2-3,000 pound car is enough of a responsibility without endangering others lives just to communicate. Overall it is great for those that are working so your boss can keep track of you at every moment, but for those of us retired, we throw them in a drawer some place and laugh. Don't call us we will call you. LOL

I do little examine on line and that i under no circumstances use MSN messager like maximum of of my friends. lots of the persons i be attentive to who're around my age (15-sixteen) spend approximately 4-6 hours each night on facebook or msn. it is extra often than not pointless chatter that couls merely besides be carried out in college day after as we talk, no longer to show over the telephone or surely face-to-face with the guy outdoors of school. there is that this form of element as being too linked socially. i do no longer see why someone desires to be donning on a communique with their acquaintances all day. To me it style of sounds like an invasion of privateness and a extensive waste of time. Having a social existence is unquestionably a robust element - even though it is going to no longer grow to be your in elementary terms existence.

Now that I have a cell phone ... people call me all the time. Not just when I'm at my desk. I find this is a problem occasionally. Other times, like when I need to call someone, it's pretty handy to have around.

Duh? It hasn't. Cell phones have put every white-collar American on 24/7 call for several generations into the future.
