Dark circles are often caused due to sleeplessness or disturbed sleep. If you find yourself developing dark circles, you need to first catch up on your sleep. Genetics too could predispose you to developing dark circles.

Other factors causing dark under-eye circles include:

Drinking an excess of beverages that contain caffeine.

Smoking

Allergies

Thyroid problems

A lack of iron in your body during menstruation. This often contributes to dark circles, which is why some women have a tendency to develop dark circles during their period.

First of all, try and figure out the reason you have developed dark circles.
Have you always had them?
Are they a recent occurrence?
Does your mother have dark circles under the eyes as well? Once you can pinpoint the cause for dark circles, it would be much easier for you to get rid of them.

Are you allergic to something?
If yes, work on avoiding the allergens.

Apply Vitamin E to the area under your eye.
You could open up a Vitamin E capsule, and apply a little oil. Swallow the rest of the oil. This not only helps you get rid of dark circles, but also reduces puffiness around the eyes. In addition, regular application of Vitamin E delays the onset of wrinkles.

Swallow a capsule of cod liver oil everyday. It strengthens eyes.

Take a teaspoon of tomato juice, a few drops of lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric powder and a little flour, enough to make a paste. Apply this paste to the under-eye area, and wash off after fifteen minutes.

Apply a cold, used tea bag to your eyes. You could also applied used, cold, herbal tea leaves to your eyes, to sooth them.

Try out dark circle remover creams available in the market. Make sure they are of a recognized brand before applying them to your face.

To hide dark under eye circles, select a cosmetic under-eye concealer that's one shade lighter than the foundation you're using.

Understand that a pale yellowish concealer helps hide blue or grayish circles, while a light blue or mauvish concealer masks brownish under-the-eye bags.

Begin with a freshly washed and exfoliated face. Dab concealer under your eyes gently, using a soft circular motion.

Apply foundation up to the concealer and blend the two shades together gently, using a circular motion to cover dark under eye circles.

Finish with a dusting of untinted face powder for a polished, seamless look.

Tips:
Avoid concealers containing oils, because the oil will settle into the fine lines under your eyes and draw attention to the circles.

When using a cosmetic under eye concealer, wearing foundation is a must to avoid the "white mask" look.

Never use an over-the-counter facial and body cream bleach under the eyes to eliminate dark circles. Use only prescription creams administered under a doctor's supervision.

Always apply concealer gently--rubbing can cause swelling, redness or bruising of the under eye area.

I know this is too much info....hope some of it helps.... :p

Under eye circles can be tricky. If you're just a little pink under you're eyes, use a yellow based concealer that is a shade lighter than your foundation. If you have more of a bluish tone showing through, You need to off set it with a slightly pinker shade. if you put a yellow based concealer over a blue circle, you will get a greenish effect which will make you look more tired. I hope that helps!

I found this site for you, hopefully it will offer some good tips and advice. For baggy circles under the eyes, in the past (especially when my son was born in January earlier this year) I used hemoroid cream to lessen the swelling. Just had to use a teeny amount and carefully dab it over the circles without getting it in my eye :P

I hope I've been able to help you out somewhat! Good Luck :)

Some women have dark circles if they lose a lot of blood during their menses. That along with a fibroid cyst, can cause a lot of blood loss and very dark circles. I found that after having surgery to relieve the excess bleeding, my circles are just about gone. I had the surgeries two years ago.

try getting a lot of sleep this weekend and see if that helps. I used to get them because I'd never get enough sleep, my body didn't think so, but u could see it in my eyes-well, under them. lol.

make sure you take off ALL of ur makeup before u sleep, if u need to take some nyquill to assure you sleep at least 8 hrs. clean ur face really well the night before and see how u look in the morning.

if that doesnt help, go to a dept. store at the mall, they always have makeup people at the makeup counters and they can help u get the perfect coverup
