I do residential painting but am interested in starting commercial. What are the license requirements and what are the criteria for obtaining a license? Do I need a license if the job pays more than $750??

You absolutely need a ROC # in Arizona for any commercial over $750. But, this is the thing. You can sort of get around it. say someone wants their entire office painted. Schedule the different segments at different times (even if its the same day) and make separate invoices for each. That way, each room/ job is individual and potentially under $750. But, that is only a temporary solution. Do that until you are sure you want to keep going commercially and then (if needed, save up and) get your ROC license.

You've come to the right place. This is Yahoo Arizona Contractor's Licensing Board. Here you will find all the specific qualifications, and we can certify you as licensed.
