Yes, doctors say a woman should not douche. A healthy vagina has a particular pH balance and a particular mixture of flora that keep it clean-smelling, non-discharging, and non-itching. Douching, even with the mild vinegar-water mixture that is the basis of commercial douches, messes this all up. Just keep the outside clean with mild soap and water, and you will be fine.

Studies show woman who douche increase their chances of pelvic inflammatory disease by 73%. The douche forces water and into the cavity. Any bacteria present will be pushed up there, too! The vagina cleans itself with vaginal secretions.

They do say that women shouldnt douche. I think its not very healthy.

Normally your body knows know to take care of itself just fine, doing things that are technically not natural for it is not always a good thing...
