I think the referendum in this election was more than a 1 trick pony. I think it was corruption. I think it was nothing tangible done on issues they cared about....Instead they were Terry Shiavo and Flag Burning..When they should have dealt with immigration, Minimum wage, A real vision for Iraq that showed flexibility not "Stay The Course".
I think the vote may have been against Republicans and not so much for Democrats, just due to their controlling all three branches and having nothing to show for it.....
Disckainer...I am a Democrat (Blue Dog) , If the Democrats do not get things going the right direction...We will throw those bums out also....

Lieberman's the incumbent Democrat who supports the war in Iraq. He ran as an Independent, but says he'll continue to support Democrats. Obviously, MoveOn.org's man Lamont lost to him. It's hard to beat an incumbent. MoveOn made 7 million calls and was on the winning side in most of the races in which we backed a candidate.

I think the Democrats have found a smart policy on Iraq. We need to address how we are fighting the war, but we're there now, so there's no sense in saying that we should leave. We created instability in the region, and we should clean up after ourselves.

what man? Lieberman cheated by jumping from what he really was (a republican) to the Democrats. When they didn't want him he grabbed a spot on the Independent ticket. Basically he's a warmongering fascist Bushie.

Now that he's an Independent, he will either swing vote to the republicans or stand alone. He should have quit and given the spot to someone else because his policies were destructive.

Lieberman was one out of 33 and won mostly on state issues. Your point is pretty week, if not non existent.
