Sammi is right, you have to have Sprint turn on the international service... When I had Sprint that was free, but it costs an arm and a leg per minute. Call Sprint and find out if you have a world phone - not all phones work. If it can be used, ask them to turn on the service and they can tell you the per minute cost, remember they round up so even ringing counts as a minute.
The international only counts for your roaming out of the country, so you don't have to worry about turning it off or on. Otherwise, your normal rules exist.

Basically there is service but it is under the internantional roaming. So if you have the agreement then you have discounted rates for your service. Quoting the thread that I have included a link to:

Included in the Canada or Mexico calling plans is a reduced rate of 50 cents/min for roaming in those countries. Last time I checked it was $7/mo for Canada calling @ 10 cents/min from USA, and $5/mo for Mexico calling (also 10 cents/min), and there weren't any reduced roaming rates available for other countries.

It is going to depend on the type of Sprint phone you have first call sprint and ask about your phone and while you are on the phone with them make sure you ask about rates while you are traveling. The best bet will be to buy phone cards before you go to save money in case you need to call anyone.

Yup, you need to have international calling turned on to make or recieve calls outside of Mexico.

Trust me on this because I was in Puerto Penasco in September and couldn't call home on my PCS phone because I didn't have international on it.

Probably not, unless you pay a buttload of money for international service
