Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

You don't say what antivirus program that you have running in your pc. Obvious it has failed you. You can only run one antivirus program or you will have serious conflict with your system. You can run three or four antispyware program without conflict.
Here is a free program I use that scans all 195,000 objects in my system, plus MSN Messenger, an YM. (I don't use YM but Avast will scan if you have installed).
Avast is located out of Prague. They have an excellent state of the art background scanner that really works. Will never let any virus get passed the scanner an enter your system. Will destroy the virus first in real time. Plus you will get two or three times per day automatic updates.
They will ask you for your email address, so they can you a free key that is good for one year. After the one year, you just ask for another key. The corporate version is the same, they just make corporate pay.
Never had one virus in nine plus years with Avast.

I totally recommend avast! too, because I use it too, and it's works great. They are giving away their home edition just because they are concerned for all home users. Check out this link for more info:

I've used this program for the past year or so and do technical support as well, and recommend it to everyone.
