You could go by your local hat shop or even Walmart and buy a hat holder designed especially for washing in your washing machine. Word to the wise, don't put it in the dryer. Just let it air dry in the holder and it will retain most of its size and shape. Hope this helps.

First of all its very hard to wash a hat since it shrinks and loses shape, you can't put it in a dishwasher. Maybe a washing machine but only if its not made of wool. If its only a little dirty just take a wet cloth and clean it with that so it doesn't shrink

Looks like you'll have to resort to handwashing with a toothbrush. Use a bit of baking soda on a damp toothbrush to help rid the smell of sweat and remove stains. If that doesn't work, follow this link for some more ideas

Tape a string of a few variety perferably fishing line to the coolest of the ceiling and tape the different end to the coolest of the hat. To male it so interestingly like its floating next to the wall, tape the backside back component of the hat to the wall. that is rather common and looks super

Fill a dishpan with hot water and detergent and use an old toothbrush to cleans it. It takes awhile that way but it works good.
