Asian photographic style is characterized by good bokh (sp?), that is the subject in sharp focus and the background far out of focus - the visual emphasis is placed on the subject with little background distraction.

I'm Asian, by the way.
By Asian photography, your teacher most likely meant pictures of scenery or people from Asia. The word Asia is also very wide. Look at the world map, and you'll know what I mean.
I'm from Singapore. Japan, Korea, India and even China are called Asia. So you can go into the web and download some photographs of ppl or scenery taken in these countries.
Just avoid "Western photography" for this homework, meaning Caucasian countries like USA and so on.
Hope that helps.

Pictures taken by Asian!
Pictures taken of Asians!
Pictures taken of place in Asia!
I've never heard of this. It must be like Black photography and Persian Photography and Arabic Photography and JEwish Photography and Native American Photography and Mayan Photography.
I know what Asian brush painting is and how it differences from, say, Gogan or Renior.
But I ain't never heard of a distinctive Asian method!
