They can be DIY / craft ideas or things to purchase but I am on a limited budget and need to come up with some gifts for my parents & sister.
Thanks!

Try to find some unfinished wooden trays with deep, straight side at the craft store and paint or stain them then apply a background on the inside bottom of the tray using either scrapbook paper, news paper, magazine pages, maps, anything that reflects the interests or the personality of the person you will be giving it to. Now collect pictures and other memorabilia relating to each person and arrange them inside the "shadow box"and glue in place. Apply a picture hanger to the back and you have a very personal memory box they will treasure because it came from your heart.

Many teachers spend their own money on supplies they use in the classroom. As you know by buying supplies for your kids, they can add up. My suggestion would be to put together a small basket of assorted school supplies each teacher would likely use at school. They could be pencils, pens, glue sticks, crayons, post-it notes, etc. You can also include something a little more on the personal side such as a small picture frame. Use the frame for your holiday sentiment to make the basket special and personalized. This wouldn't cost much and the teachers would know you appreciate them and want to help make their jobs a little easier.

I think the best gifts are the ones that I have received and given are the ones from the heart. A nice framed picture of you and your sister when you were little, and a picture of the two you together now would be a nice gift. I gave my sister who likes coffee a new mug with a couple of sample flavored coffees and some flavored creamers to mix and match. My dad liked to ride his bike, and I bought him a new headlight and a package net. One year I bought him a t-shirt from his college. I made a nice scrapbook of pictures of my sister and myself from the time we were little until now. For some more ideas, check out these websites. I know I found some neat and creative ideas.

I had a boss who would always have a wrapped gift ready for whoever would come to his house, friend or stranger. He would buy things like candles from the $ store or Big Lots. If you have a thrift store or $ store, buy some inexpensive Christmas mugs and fill them with holiday colored Hershy Kisses and wrap in red tissue paper tired with a nice green ribbon. Or a cheap basket filled with red, green and white colored candles, with candies thrown in. Plus a few ornaments, too. You would be amazed at the nice things the $ store has. Don't forget a basket filled with christmas potpourri and a nice candle placed in the middle. Tie a nice bow on the handle with an inexpensive ornament tied to the bow. All the above can be put together for next to nothing. Next year try looking for all this stuff at yard sales.

Hi Csouza, Your parents will love a home made family album with old pictures, funny pictures, happy picture and some pictures of you and your sister from being a baby until now. If your sister likes make- up purchase a small bag of things she likes.I would love a home made album from my 2 girls. That would be the best thing in my book.

Most of our friends are getting baked stuff this christmas. We are planning on baking cookies and cheese straws and making some seasoned mixed nuts to give as presents. Old Time Pottery has some really nice canisters that are very inexpensive.

DVD's are pretty cheap. It doesn't have to be a movie... it could be a DVD concert of their favorite music. That's a thoughtful gift. I give some of my clients gift certificates to movie theaters... they love it and it's relatively cheap.

Happy Holidays

You could cruise the Dollar stores of make things yourself. Sometimes you can find interesting items at Target in their dollar bins too.

you can always give them HOME MADE COUPONS. you know use construction paper (get creative) to draw out some coupons that say you will do stuff for them.

WASH YOUR CAR COUPON.
DO YOUR LAUNDRY COUPON
COOK DINNER FOR A WEEK COUPON...ETC.

this stuff will be very easy on the wallet since it's more physical work. it'll only cost you a little sweat.
