Stanford will look at everything, art, sports, extras and your core classes. True hey are looking for smart people, but they are also looking for talented, out going people. As they say on the website
"we are looking for the thinking student who has a passion for ideas. We want to see throughout your application the kind of curiosity and enthusiasm that will allow you to spark a lively discussion in a seminar and to then continue the conversation at a dinner table. We want to see the energy and depth of commitment you will bring to your endeavors inside the classroom and outside, whether that means a research lab, a community organization, a performance, or an athletic field. We want to see the initiative with which you seek out opportunities that expand your knowledge and that will allow you to participate in creating new knowledge. We are interested in the total person."
You may want to consider on-line classes at Stanford that are for gifted students of all ages.
Make sure you take your time on your app and put your personality into it. Good luck, you can do it.

As far as I know Stanford will consider every single one of your grades. The best thing to do is to take the class at a community college during the summer and get an A. If you do this, they'll eliminate it from your record in High School. Nevertheless, I doubt that Stanford cares about art unless you apply as an art major. All that Stanford needs is for you to be a legacy and/or rich.

They take it all.

It won't be until college that different organizations start worrying about Upper Division GPA, Major GPA, College GPA, and Cumulative GPA.

I am sure they will take your entire grade point. If your GPA is that high, don't worry about it. That's a high B..you shouldn't have a problem. GPA's become really important in college. I wouldn't retake it (unless you want to)..you will do enough studying in college..

They will look at the overall GPA, but I have to wonder if you are calculating your GPA correctly. Unless you are still a freshman, all A's and one B would be considerably higher.

I'm not sure about that college in particular, but most colleges take overall GPA. Go to their website, it should be on there. =]
