trying to do a paper on culture, trying to decide if i can label being female, mother etc part of culture?

i have to list my diiferent cultures and then explain them. i dont know if i can use detailed such as the mother, femal ,worker, religion as all part of my culture or not

I really think that you know the answer already, you just need to articulate it.

1. Decide what culture is. If you really need help here, then input "definition of culture" into your preferred search engine (I use www.dogpile.com).

2. Now that you have the characteristics of culture, you can decide what falls within the definition. Religion could be a part , provided either that it is unique to that culture, or that religious observance is a significant feature of the culture. Being female, as such, is nothing to do with culture. However if there are unique features within the culture (e.g. styles of dress, or the role of women), then those are cultural characteristics.

3. Here's a tip for the future. With any question, don't try to jump straight in. Consider what the essence of the question is. That's what 1. (above) is about. Also some questions may not make complete sense. In those cases it is quite justifiable to be critical of it. If you understand the reason behind the question, then you will be in a better position to answer.
