It's very easy for everyone to give the automatic response... cheating. It's been proven that marriages can survive and trust can be rebuilt. It depends on the situation and how strong the marriage was. It's always an indication of needs not being met and I don't mean just physical needs.
There are several reasons for divorce to be automatic and they are far more serious than cheating...
Physical abuse because it could mean permanent physical damage or death. Sexual abuse within the family, especially children because all loyalty must go to the child in those situations. Emotional abuse because it can be crippling and more painful than physical abuse. The only time I would consider cheating to be automatic would be if it was with a close friend or family member.
As we travel through life there are many things that, once survived, make us stronger. If there is real love in a relationship there are many serious issues that can be resolved with happy endings.
Divorce should ALWAYS be the last option. People don't take marriage seriously enough.

If I've already asked are you cheating on me? And he keeps implying that I'm crazy he would never do that. I continue on to say if your having an affair we could probably work through the problem but i want to know the truth. He still says "no" well later i find out this woman is supposed to be pregnant by him. I hire the guy from the cheaters show to see what he's doing because of my suspicion and they catch a whole week of him doing just that he's outta there divorce lawyer here we come!

I would most definitely have to "catch" him cheating, as I did. You can't just assume this... or go by your own istinct. I would really be upset if it were MY SO CALLED BEST FRIEND who went to church with us and sat behind the pastor!!! And I would definitely kick his butt out and divorce him immediately if they were in my bed and I came home early from work!!! This really did happen, I am NOT BEING CREATIVE! And it really sucked a big one, or she did! But that was almost 3 years ago and I am still single while he has been with many women, with no telling what kind of disease. He is an unemployed drunk now living with his mother and I am raising our precious 4 year old son on my own cause he couldn't keep his dinky out of the ho

Cheating, that is having sex with anyone other than me, would do it for me, because once cheating has taken place there is no way to trust the other person. The communication in the relationship has been severed and the odds of cheating reoccurring are extremely high if not definite.

Abuse: Mental or physical it's all the same.

The best example of an immediate is Ted Haggard, out with a male prostitute, and using meth! He wouldn't get back in the front door if I was the wife. I caught my guy with his whole body in the cookie jar. I wasn't so angry but I felt betrayal and could see our future going up in smoke. I just could not get the sight out of my mind so within 24 hours I started the process of divorce. It was the right thing to do.

caught cheating ,said wasn't ,decided should split up for a while to evaluate our lives ,got back together two weeks later still not as it seemed "need baby sitter ,mother -in-law or her mother would not do it " come home from work left after about ten min to go be with him,lasted six months,another eval. period ,but,she mved in with other guy two or three days later. got divorce not long after that

cheating, not just a one night stand but another formal relationship, for example with his ex. and like u said abuse. once a guy (im a girl) hits me than there is no more respect in the relationship witout any respect it doesnt work out.

I feel if the person is being dishonest and is not loyal. If I would catch my mate in bed, with another female that would be the end of us. That's a hard pill to taste, if you've forgiven that mate once before and they haven't learned that time something is wrong with them not you.
