After you give birth!

It's not your stomach that is growing. Your belly is expanding and your baby is growing. The baby stops growing in your last two weeks of pregnancy. And about stretch marks....Sometimes they aren't noticeable until after the baby is born, because the skin is so stretched out during the nine months you don't even see them until you start losing your pregnancy weight. (this is what happened to me. I thought I had gotten away free and clear, until my daughter was about 3 weeks old. My stomach went down quite a bit and that's when I noticed them.) They weren't that bad, but still.......

o.k. to help stretch marks...first, there's genetics that plays a part in that. i didn't get any and neither did my mom or sister...we're lucky.
however, i also used palmer's unscented cocoa butter and other lotions and drank LOTS of water. keep hydrated and your skin will stay elastic.

now, as for a growing tummy. your tummy will grow up to around 40-41 weeks-ish. some women will start to measure smaller at their appointments and this is a red flag to their dr. a pregnant woman's tummy should not measure smaller. if it does, then this could mean the placenta has stopped working and the baby is losing weight, or that there isn't as much amniotic fluid as there should be.

a nice big round tummy is a good thing! don't worry about stretch marks. once you have your little bird that will be that last thing on your mind for a while.

take care.

The belly grows right up until the day of delivery. The rate at which it grows depends on how much the woman is eating and how quickly the baby is growing.
A good way to decrease the likelihood of stretch marks forming is to use a collagen/elastin based cream or vitamin E oil on the belly every day from the start.

LOL...I don't really know for sure but I would have to say no Because in the last weeks of pregnancy you gain what like a pound a week maybe loose one or two before you have the baby. I am due Sunday and I can definitely say that since 36 weeks I am so huge now it's not funny.

It stops growing when you have the baby. The baby gains most of its weight the last few weeks of pregnancy. And stretchmarks can start before 34 weeks. Everyone is different. If your family has good skin elasticity then you hopefully wont get stretch marks. If your mother got them when she was pregnant, you are most likely going to get them too, no matter what you do.

Your stomach will grow up until delivery, I'm sure. I got small stretchmarks on my hips during the last few weeks of my pregnancy. Believe me the baby is all worth it! And there's really nothing you can do about it. I slathered every kind of lotion on.. it either happens to you.. or it doesn't.

It depends. For me, I carry my baby super low, and they both dropped really early. So, yes, my tummy technically stopped growing, at about 34 weeks for both pregnancies. In fact, when they measured me, for both pregancies I measured small towards the end and had to have ultrasounds to make sure everything was okay. Which it has been, for both.

Although this sounds like great news, it's a two-edged sword. I never got stretch marks on my belly. BUT, because they dropped so early, my hips spread more and I have stretch marks on my hips instead. Easily treatable, and less severe because you have them for less time, but there nonetheless.

I'm not sure if this is how it works for all women, but that's how it worked for me... Guess it depends on how you carry your baby...

No.

Actually the last 4-6 weeks the belly grows the most. Because, the baby is actually getting bigger. This is why the Hollywood starlets - Brittney Spears and Madonna - get csections at 34 weeks. No stretch marks.

You keep growing up until you have the baby. The last month you usually have the fastest growth because the baby is gaining 1-2 lb a week.

ha ha ha... unbelievable. The stomach stops growing when the baby comes out of you. I think this is obvious, yet having experienced it, it is, of course, a bit alarming. No, it's not going to just stop. If it does that is bad, very bad.
