i am trying to burn movies to a dvd that will play in my dvd player. its not compatible with avi or vcd, i used a program to convert avi files to dvd format and i got two ifo files and two backups of those ifo's and four mpeg files i try to burn using nero vision Ive tried version two three and four) and it inevitably fais in the burning process. iv'e converted to all sorts of formats and tried to burn because i have the dvd plugins for nero which should convert the files by itself and it still wont work.. any help would be appreciated.

ok let me clear this up i am not copying dvd's so i dont need to know whether or not that is illegal. what i need to know is an effective way to burn avi files to a dvd that will play in most dvd players. i know some are compatible with avi or various other
non dvd formats but this one is not. i have a program to convert them to dvd format and i came up with a folder after converting to dvd format that contains two ifo? files and four mpeg files. please only answer this question if you know what you are talking about, like you've actually done it and you know for a fact that it works.

ok let me say this one more time. i have converted the avi files to dvd format. but it will not burn using nero. i've googled it believe me i have read page after page of ppl not knowing what they r talking about. so please if you cant tell me exactly how and what to do and you don't know FOR SURE that it works please dont answer this question

You can google 'AVI to DVD' formate, also to rip movies there is a legal program to back them up, it is called DVD Shrink.

It is accually not illegal under the "Fair rights". This states that you can copy dvd's for personal use. Basically, you can't sell them or make people pay to see them.

To convert your file, check out Magic DVD ripper. I think you can convert with this.

you can copy dvds legally if you copy them you can't sell them if you copy it and sell it it is breaking the law

and they do work in dvd players but you have to find which type will workin yours

Remember SELLING IS ILLEGAL

its illegal to copy or burn DVDs.the dvd wont even play on my computer and to give u some real help they have this thing that is called "copy protected",so that makes it almost impossible 2 copy it.
