Lets see, since I have joined, I have been called the following:
Freak, Loser, Communist, A--hole, Liberal, Pervert as well as a few others I can't begin to list here because they are a bit over the top!
Were they insults or just keen character observations? I don't know.
I really don't pay a whole lot of attention to what people call me. I love me, and dammit, thats just good enough for me!

I think everyone is insulted at one point on Yahoo! Answers, at least if they give honest answers or ask honest questions. The only thing I can remember being called now is racist (the girl turned out to be someone of my own race so boy did she feel stupid later) and right now I was just called a jerk on my previous question ("How to tell him I'm not interested without hurting his feelings?" Apparently trying to spare someone's feelings makes you a jerk). Neither is actually that bad compared to the insults other people have endured here.

I'm somewhat new to this Y Answers and I dig it for the most part. The questions on interracial dating is getting old. I can't believe how many people out there are still stuck in the 50's mentality.
Anyway, I haven't been called anything. How would that happen? By e-mail or what?
Kind of confused

considering that I'm lesbian and I spend a lot of time in the LGBT forums where a lot of homophobic trolls like to spend a lot of time bashing, I've been called almost every ignorant, derogatory homophobic name that the small-minded bigots can come up with. it's pretty sad, really, how many bigoted jerks stalk these pages. I see throughout the society/culture, culture/groups pages a lot of those same people bashing different races, religions and cultures as well. Pretty sad that in 2006, there's still so many ignorant, small-minded people there still are.

I had a run in with a satan worshiper simply because I asked him to leave me alone. I spoke to him in my native language (Native American) . He called me a witch . I thought it was hilarious. Obviously the idiot thought I was casting a spell on him or something. I actually insulted his manhood and his tiny brain lol.

I answered honestly and bluntly on a question about a controversial musician, and was called something quite unrepeatable.

Keeping it simple:
--"Chatterbox". There is some truth to this, as I believe if I am going to spend my time and effort answering a Question, and I think I have a shot at having a good answer, well, why not be as complete as possible? *lol* Sometimes I think I must have been one of a handful of people who made it *okay* to give slightly longer-form answers around here....
Much to the dismay of folks who think one-liners are too much and that one *word* is perfect. ;) There's truth to this, but only if you hate on people for using mostly complete sentences.
--I was attacked once or twice for being "so negative that my 'two cents' wasn't worth a plug nickel". There is some truth to this one in terms of my actually cutting loose and *being mean* about issues I care about. But.
Exhibit A: People do so, *so* much worse than I do on here, just on Answers *alone*, never mind Yahoo Services in general, and they get *ignored* by the folks at Yahoo Inc. and no amount of reporting for abuse or emailing complaints shuts *them* up. And in the meantime, I draw *violations* for opnions that are true but *unpopular* or for not sucking up (excuse me, but isn't sucking up actually a *chatting violation*?). So I fail to see how my bad moments add up to my being *worthless* in the way your average vulgar, paid-for-troll around here usually is. ;)
Exhibit B: Sometimes people ask *very* mean-spirited questions that *warrant* a ream-you-out sort of answer. Not just trolls, but people who in their ignorance ask the same old lame old things like "Golly, am I preggers even though the past three tests say NO?" or "Why are poor people ALL a bunch of lazy parasites?" or some such....
But yeah, I will be the first to admit, the accusations of negativity do have some basis in fact, and so I have been trying a little to avoid the really nasty questions and to not be totally hostile. Still, you do have to look at it in context: Yahoo Inc. openly encourages so many people to troll and spam and generally be so much *more* antisocial than I am that I do have to wonder how *relevant* in context that insult is.
It's like putting down a basketball player for being tall, you know? Is that really an insult? ;)
--I have heard here, and *only here*, of something called a "Boo Radley moment", which I assume (because sometimes paranoia online is justified) is at least in part about my getting Best Answers in spite of it all. :)
I don't know *what* to make of that one. I honestly don't. What, am I not allowed to earn a Best Answer any more? And people call it "point gaming" to vote for your own answers....let me clarify something. *I* don't consider it cheating if I can *remember* what I typed and vote on that, ok? Yahoo does *hide* the IDs of people involved, and neither my memory nor anyone else's is perfect...I mean, if I have the chance, I do vote for my own answers when I can, *regardless* of turnout, ok? I've actually spent the 30 minutes or so going through dozens if not hundreds of answers, to find what I thought was my answer, found that to be the case, and that it only got Two Percent of the vote...
Which is *fine* with me. :) That is how it is supposed to work. It isn't MY fault that some folks just *abandon* their questions, don't resolve them and don't do anything with them, is it?
I don't see how it is cheating, ok? I don't. Hell, I didn't even bother with voting until I hit level 3 or so (look it up) anyway, and the only reason I started is because I like *even numbers* on my point total. That's all, *lol*. :)
But yeah, I guess with Level Four, and with my getting a few Best Answers on a handful or less of votes, now folks think I am some psycho cheater and talk smack about that behind my back...never mind that some of these same people have *copied and pasted* whole answers of mine and attempted to pass them off as their own. And I've reported it, and Yahoo Inc. *does nothing*. Go figure. :P
But yeah, I really don't get that "Boo Radley" crap, I don't. It isn't like I am working multiple profiles (the way some Yahoo Inc. EMPLOYEES have been CAUGHT doing), or getting *paid* cash money to troll the groups (politics trolls, religion & spirituality trolls) or to abuse them for "focus group" type research (your shills asking what your "favorite" soft drink or fast food is).
All I am doing is getting some Best Answers once in a while, and folks have to hate on me for that. :) I don't get it. Nobody in their right mind should be *jealous* of me, but I guess a few folks here really *are* that stupid.
Hope this helps, and sorry to go on so....I am sure there are more insults, but those are the big three and my take on them.
Have a good one! :)
