wherever i am, i always see someone crossing their legs (at the knee) i've seen so many people do it mainly women, but sometimes men. my gilfriend always crosses her legs when she sits no matter what she is wearing or where she is. i was just curious why people do it, and do you notice when you do it, or is it out of habbit? Also, reasons beside not letting their ***** show please.

Well I have to admit that I do that quite often. I think it is just because it is probably a habit to always sitting that way. It could also be because it feels more comfortable to sit that way. When I'm wearing a skirt I always make sure I sit away where you can't see up it by crossing my legs a certain way to prevent anything from showing.

DON´T
Crossing your legs can restrict blood flow to and from the legs, and can increase pressure in your leg veins. In a survey, 68% of women admitted to the habit! Try and make a conscious effort not to cross them – placing a magazine or book on your lap may make it easier to remember.

DO
In another survey, 70% of women spend over half their day sitting down. If you have to sit or stand for long periods, remember to keep moving your legs and changing your position. Stretch your legs, ankles and feet at regular intervals.

Raising your legs for at least 10 minutes a day, perhaps when you get home from work, can help relieve the pressure on your leg veins.

I do it only out of habit. I remember when I was younger, I hated the look of crossed legs - I was also very much of a tomboy. I tried it once and hated the feel of it. As soon as I hit mid-7th grade, I started to do it more often and it developed into a habit. I don't like doing it, but I don't even that I do it sometimes.

My father crosses his legs; I don't see anything wrong with a man doing so. It just makes me wonder where he got the idea from.

Nuns. I learned to cross my legs when I was in Catholic School. They taught us proper etiquette. Ladies are taught to cross their legs because it displays that you are a lady. Men do it as well because a lot are taught the same. I am sure there's an etiquette book out there that has this as well as how to set a table properly, where to put the silverware. We were also taught how to curtsy.

I was told you cross your legs to be lady-like and to keep boys from trying to get there. My grandma used to say, cross your legs, so the penny wont drop, meaning keep your legs closed and knees together...dont really get it, but dont let your penny drop, that means a boy have been ummm THERE....lol

Etiquete says: if you wear a skirt or dress, you are supposed to cross your ANKLES only, not your legs because you will showing something you shouldn't be showing........ If you are wearing pants, it's okay to cross your legs.

i think people do it out of habit, but when i see a man cross his legs i always think thats gotta hurt his balls. my ex has huge balls and he will cross his legs when giving guitar lessons, so maybe it's not that uncomphy, but i think its an etiquet thing. who wants to see a woman stting there with her legs out like a man? unless youre trying to look up her skirt/...

i don't usually pay that much attention to the way i sit (who would?) unless i'm wearing a dress, but i think my ankles cross most of the the time on their own, probably because it's more comfortable. i think most women wear panties so they don't have to worry about their ***** showing (besides, if you don't wear panties, you probably don't care one way or the other if it shows).
