Pakistani Peeps!!!!!! and muslims too and anyone else who might have an idea?

i have this cousin in pakistan and he says there is something funny in his last name, Haque. He thinks it's hilarious but is too shy to tell me. What is this fob talking about?

Just to spice up the discussion, I would like to mention that the same word is written in many variations here in my country, some of which are as follows;

Haque
Hoque
Haq
Huq
and some more...

However, 'Haque' is more prevalent. I think both the answers above me are relevant and this is the first time I have come across this fact that some people (assuming Muslims) are 'shy' to pronounce this word in western countries.

I asked my husband, who is Muslim and he says the spelling is pronounced, "Hawk - silent e".

In America, "hawking" is a gross, throaty expulsion of a booger. That's not really funny. However, children, hearing this from older people (usually men with severe sinus problems, who refuse to blow their nose, let it get caught in the throat, build up mucous and then spit it out), think the noise is just hilarious. It's gross.

It's a funny way of spelling "hack." As in hacking a computer. Or so the people on usenet say.
