Look, young man, the difference between a 14 y/o and a 17 y/o may not seem much to you but it is a big one. You are in uhm..8th grade? she is in 11th? she will be in collage soon and you will still be high school. Plus it is illegal and for a good reason. AND I am sorry to tell you but women Usually mature faster then men and most women of that age like men a LITTLE older then them...try finding someone in your grade if you are stuck on her then you have a lesson to learn about love. I am glad she will not date you.
Don't worry to much though when you 18 that age differnce willnot be such a big thing and you might get lucky

because at that age it does count social status and all .. but in a few years say 10 .. 3 yrs wont make a diff i know i am 42 my bf 30 some say robbing the cradle but i say not but at 17 verse 14 jail bait .. it don't mean they are lying .. just have to wait it out

i guess that depends on how old they are when they said that..a 17 yr old ,probally looks at a 14 yr old as still being "a kid",some of us mature faster then others,male or female..don't get discouraged...

and for the age thing.... idk either cuz im 14 and my bf is 13 he will turn 14 in december and my b day is in may so its really just a few months of diference, so i think she said that cuz she was afraid to date you for what others may think
