Chromosomes are tightly packaged bundles of chromatin. Both are composed of DNA and carry genetic information. Chromatin condenses to chromosomes when the cell is about to divide.

chromatin---material in a cell nucleus tht stains with basic dyes and consists of protein , RNA and DNA
chromosome---threadlike cellular structures tht carry the genatic information in the form of genes
