how can i tell him if he wants to be emo because of how he is dressing?

my guy friend is trying to let grow hs bangs. laast time in class i was talking to him and i was going to ask him if he was going to change to emo when he would go to high school. also if he would die his hair black.
i dont know how to ask him

When I was in school, you had critters, guidos, posers and headbangers... Simple and easy to remember.

Dirt bag rock and rollers, metal heads, guys that dress up like women (and the girls (mostly future strippers or porm stars) who loved them and shared their hairspray with them) and the guidos.

Now you have Emo, goth, alternative, preps, blonds, jocks, nerds, geeks, fags, hip-hop, cutters, carvers, fashonistas... GEEZE!

Ask him what he thinks of guys wearing make up if he thinks its okay theres a chance of him going emo. just because hses growing out his hair doesnt mean that hes emo. Just ask him questions like the emo style ask him if he likes it. see what hesays or come right out and ask him.

you preteens slash teens, are so obsessed with what class of modern teens you'll be placed in and labelled as.... i guess i remember doing that sort of thing. It's just too bad that that label is decided prior to becoming it, last time i checked you didn't decide what stereotyped group you fit in, you just are that stereotype
