I personally prefer the styling of the 2005 MDX to the new one. I feel like newer Acuras do not have the maturity of design that you find in older models. I don't see any reason why you should spend say 25% more on a car with only 5% more life left in it. Go for a gently used 2005.

Here are some specs of the 2005 Acura MDX:
0-60 Time: 7.78 Seconds
1/4 Mile Time: 16.14 Seconds
1/4 Mile Speed: 86.80 MPH
Peak HP: 265 @ 5800 RPM
Torque Peak: 253 ft-lb @ 3500 RPM

All stats taken from MSN Autos.

Buy the 2005!

There are not a whole lot of options for the 2.8, believe me, ive looked. A cold air intake will do nothing for you, the stock air box is pretty good to start with since it has ram air. other things such as chipping ext do not really give you gains that your going to notice. An exhaust might help a little, but the only thing thats going to give you a good amount of power (90-100 hp) is a supercharger which will run you about 5k. The 2.8s arent really set up to mod.
