When considering which program to choose, always consider where you are heading in the future. This is the most important factor when comparing these two programs. Both degrees will serve you well, and whether one is better than the other depends solely on your career goals and how you plan to utilize your degree.

Typically, an MBA program offers a more general education than an MS.
However, MBA programs are constantly evolving, and they now tend to put more stress upon specializations and concentrations.

Another thing to consider is that MS programs are not subject to rankings like MBA programs are. Therefore, the prestige that is carried with MS programs is much less discriminating.

Academically, both programs are usually similar in difficulty.
There are some that say students in MS classes tend to be more academically inclined because they are there for different reasons than MBA students. This opinion is based on the thought that people who are going for an MBA are in it for the money, the career, and the title. Where as MS students are in it for other reasons-- most of them academic in nature.

Because not all schools offer an MBA and not all schools offer an MS in business, your first decision will be to decide which is more important, your program of choice or your school of choice.
If you’re lucky, you can have it both ways.

Good Luck.

B is right. But my.. .blanket statement on this topic is "Go for the MBA" It would appear that you'd be adding a graduate degree to a science-based undergrad. Having an MBA then makes you more well-rounded. Actually I, personally, was thinking about going on to Duke for my masters because they offer a degree that combines engineering (currently working towards an aero. engineering degree) and business - a sort of MBA for engineers really. That's a happy medium worth considering as well. But again, the most important question is what you intend to do with it, as that peppers things a bit.

I wish you well with deciding/sorting things out :o).

hi. i am too in this dilemma before.i completed BTECH.& now i am preparing for GRE to do MS in Aeronautical engi.. .& about U. If u have scientific Idieas like desingning aircrafts, solving problems in structures..etc.interested in reparing machines U should opt for MS.
& if U r interested in making the products produced by the makers, be demanded in the market with your bussiness skills and return high profits to the company so they could make more research's in inventing new products U should opt for MBA.

& more over if U r interested in both better go for MS utilize ur skills in technology and then after it(nearly after 10 years) U will automatically be positioned in manager levels.

& according to me there is no nessesary for doing MBA inorder to be good manager or to do better bussiness. It mainly depends upon Ur seeing of the World, analysing, observing & creativity

lastly if u dicide for aeronautical..make me Ur friend!

It depends on what you plan on doing with the degree. Talk to people in the field you want to enter and get feedback on what degree they did or find attractive for potential applicants. You can get the best tips from people doing the job you want... they may steer you to a specific college or program and tell you that some degrees won't serve you well. Network and do your research before choosing.
