I would imagine they dream about their experiences just as we do.
story: everyone is told that a baby "can't smile" until about 2 or 3 months old. Well, when we had our son (firstborn), we were watching him asleep in his bed when he was about 3 weeks old..... so peaceful and cute. All at once we noticed his little eyes moving under the lids (just like you do when you dream) and he grinned a bit and then let out the greatest loud giggle! So there you go - myth busted on 2 fronts..... smiling giggling 3 week old, AND dreaming.

Young babies are never bored; they are always happy and playing by themselves. Actually little do we know that they are right now still adjusting to their human bodies and so are being given company and guided by their divine friends and angels, also they have their guides along who stay along for the rest of their lives, only the kids forgets about them gradually only to rediscover them much later in life, when they are ready once again to rediscover their divine status – the status of being a child of God first than being a child of two human beings.
So many children remember this fact life long and many forget as parents disbelieve them so emphatically.
That’s why, the best gift as a parent could give t their young child would be to allow them to converse even play with their divine friends, or at least do not deny them to live what seems so fantastic to us, having ourselves forgotten that part of us that knows for sure of our divine origins.
Most babies are busy visiting spiritual realms they have lived all this while before taking rooted permanently (at least for the next 7-8 decades if not longer) in the physical bodies.
Sometimes they do laugh sporadically or even cry when they remember something from their past life, gradually as the live memories kick in they start forgetting all about the other world by the age five, only to try to hard to rediscover our divine status for the rest of our time in this body.
Having lived for so long in the spiritual realms we find it so hard to get trapped in a tiny physical body especially when no one understands the language of the intuition. So while parents get used to understanding the non verbal communication of the babies, the babies themselves quickly learn to communicate in the human way.
No wonder so many angels and guides and spiritual friends keep them company while the parents and children get used to each others' spaces and energies.
Young babies, our closest physical encounter with God and the best period of human life, when we get to enjoy the best of both the worlds, the within and without.

What it does. Our minds are far more developed and can use REM to picture what we have seen in our life. Babies on the other hand REM about what they have done. So.. I guess they dream about crawling around and dream about their mama and dada.
