It is.

It goes with

'stitch in time saves nine'

If you begin it right and true, you won't have to go back and do it again.

' a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step'

Sometimes the hardest part of making something happen is to stop dreaming and start doing. And that is half the battle. Once you've got it going, your on your way.

A lot of our western culture has developed a problem called the immediate gratification syndrome. Meaning that they must have things immediately. Television, internet, travel has all led to impatience. Sadly this trickles over into the rest of our lives too, and that leads us to rash career decisions, low motivation, high credit (biggie!) and so on.

Working hard and long at something has its own gratification. When the goal is met, it really is so much the sweeter.

We forget sometimes (I'm bad for this too) that the journey itself can be the most rewarding.

Add to that: Patience is a virtue

I better get going... those pages aren't going to write themselves! ;)

I don't know how true it is but may be it is said so b'cas when something begins well, in a manner that we feel fulfilled, we feel more optimistic towards it and therefore there is ahigh chance that we might happily proceed and even complete it. It sure makes us feel upset when we begin something in an unpleasant way.

But however, there are a lot many among us, who still achieve the 'so called un-achievable' even if they has numerous bad starts, b'cas beyond anything they had the determination to do it and finish it.

So, in my opinion, "well begun is half done" is true to some, but for people with determination "However begun is full done"!

For me, if it's a short task, like paying bills or cooking something, or painting furniture, yes.

As a student, though, I find that no matter how much planning and writing I do ahead of time, I am usually scrambling at the last minute to finish my papers.

Vincent van Gogh said, " Something great is achieved by many small events." As with anything not all those things are going to be good as we would like. Like it as we may or may not that is the way it is. Nothing truly good happens overnight, except in rare instances.

I'm more of the belief that you try the best you can....but do try. Not trying is lazy. Trying is very important. But, only you know if you have done the best you can. That's the key.
