I am soon to be 16 years old in the state of Alabama and I have always been interested in starting my own business and I feel as though waiting until after college will be a long time. I am interested in opening and small business the sells cd's and mixtape, along with the occasional hip-hop/ r&b t-shirt or two. Please help me...

I assume you can start at any age. Please check with your local government office (business license). They will tell you exactly what you need to have a legal business license. One of them will probably be your driver's license. However, you can have you parents register the company and you run it for now even if you cannot register yourself.

That is a vary competitive market with the on slot on music being sold over the Internet. I would recommend doing some research into the market in your area. Selling mix tapes will bring you into a mess w licenses agreements etc. stay in school and start making and selling t-shirts from home

you could go to the office supply store and pick up some inexpensive business cards, and print her up some business cards on your computer... or, how about a nice blouse so she feels professional as she meets with people or if she will be traveling a-lot and spending lots of time in her car, how about a nice car seat cover or how about a nice business card holder ( i have found really beautiful ones at Claire's and Icing for under $10)

you have to be 18 to start your own business. Don't worry you will be there before you know it. I would start saving now and by the time your 18 you will have the money it takes to start your own business

a business can make you money or send you to bad credit and or ruing your life entirely if the wrong decisions are made.
I SUGGEST YOU STAY IN SCHOOL LEARN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION IN COLLEGE AND BE SUCCESSFUL IN YOUR BUSINESS . RATHER THAN RUINING YOUR FUTURE BEFORE YOU START IT.
BESIDES YOUR IDEA OF CD/AND /MIXED TAPE WILL PROBABLY BE OUT BEFORE YOU GO IN, AT THE WAY TECH. AND ELECTRONICS RAPIDLY CHANGES.
DO YOU KNOW THAT VHS TAPES WILL NO FURTHER BE MADE?
THAT COMPUTERS WILL BE THE SIZE OF A POCKET PEN.
