If you'd like to read about pirates I recommend 'Under The Black Flag' by David Cordingly. Non-Fiction

One trilogy that I would highly recommend, although it is not exclusively about pirates, is the Liveship Traders trilogy by Robin Hobb. It's comprised of three books: Ship of Magic, Mad Ship, Ship of Destiny.
