I hate clutter but yet am the master at making it. Every few months I go through my things and toss what I dont use/doesnt fit/doesnt work anymore. But how do I keep myself focused in keeping my pad clean of daily clutter such as a table hidden under paperwork, clothes on the floor and to keep myself from getting lazy about it? Im usualy good for a week but after that all the cleaning and organizing goes out the window...any ideas?

i dont see how you can hate clutter and not therefore be motivated to move it? I am a constant de-clutterer. My standby thoughts are: messy desk, messy mind; hanging on to things keeps me trapped in the past; life energy stagnates around un-dealt with things; handle things once, ie: put it where it needs to be straight away; of course there is never put off til tomorrow what you can do today and for decluttering the commuting experience: always take the first exit/off ramp.

My pat answer for clutter removal is to throw everything away that is nonessential and file those things that are. I get some type of sick pleasure out of throwing stuff away and do so regularly with delight.
Get a good filing system and stick with it. It takes a daily concious effort to declutter. keep at it!

Could be you are a bit depressed so here is what I suggest. There is a saying that your home is a reflection of your soul so I try my best not to let my home look like Hades!
Here is what I suggest: Choose one hour a day, same time each day to do things around the house. Do it every day no matter what.
Another thing is reward yourself after with whatever you enjoy doing. Paint a picture, do some reading, whatever. Good luck!
