I went to the doctor today and she informed me that my beta had doubled since the other day, which is good. Going by the beta though, I am only 2 weeks pregnant.
I told my doctor that I have been experiencing major migraines ( which I have since my c-section 3 years ago). She gave me a prescription for Tylenol 3s. I know that if it were dangerous she wouldn't have given them to me, but I was just wondering if anyone else has taken them during pregnancy? Thanks!

* * I can handle the pain from the migraine, but it is causing by blood pressure to be high which is dangerous for both me and the baby.

Yes I did for an infected tooth. It is ok to take. I took mine in the first trimester and the third.........oh I came back to read and saw a women say to take advil. Definitley dont take advil or ibuprofen. That is worse than the tylenol 3. I had asked the doctor, the dentist and the pharmicist and looked it up online to make sure it was fine to take..lol, I wanted to really make sure. It is fine.

DEFINATELY don't listen to the woman who told you to take Advil!! That is CRAZY!! IBprofen is just as bad. Tylenol is the safest thing for you.
I found the nurses hotline a lifesaver with my first pregnancy. My doct had perscribed a med that wasn't covered by my insurance for heartburn. Instead I got the highest dose possible (and told to take two at a time) of Nexium. I was so scared. But, all the local hospitals had a nurse hotline. You just call up and ask the question. Generally they are knowledgable and if they don't know they'll ring a doctor.
Check your local hospitals!

I had kidney problems with my last pregnancy, and they first prescribed me Tylenol 3, then about 4 months into it they had to prescribe Vicodin, (kidney and ureter problems then) and the last two months I was on Percocet. You can take these meds (narcotics) during pregnancy, BUT your OB doc should prescribe them, and don't take any more than prescribed. If it's a long term situation, my high risk OB said to taper down, or quit within the last few weeks. It will be out of baby's system and baby will be just fine!!! You'd be surprised how many medications you CAN take during pregnancy.

I had Tylenol 2 at the start of my pregnancy due to chronic back ache from a truck accident. but I only took it a couple of times. my doctor gave it to me. follow directions from your doctor of course they do the right thing and if you don't feel that it is safe than don't take it. It is your choice. good luck to you and your baby.

What happens if I miss a dose?
Since acetaminophen is taken as needed, you may not be on a dosing schedule. If you are taking the medication regularly, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

i wouldnt recommend taking tylenol 2 anyone. i am currently suffering liver failure from tha' high levels of tylenol that are in vicodine. but, i was told when i was pregnant that aspirin is a leading cause of Rye's Syndrome. maybe u wanna get another opinion, from another baby doc. (i have migraines, too. b-lieve me, tylenol won't do sh!t 4 'em). good luck. happy parenting.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the med u're taking. I had to take tylenol while pregnant. It's not as strong as the other meds. It's safe to take as long as u're taking it the right way.

I did and the doctor promised me they were safe. Check with your pharmacist. I think they know more than alot of the doctors about the medications.
