Hi, I also am pregnant and my quad screen came back a 1:35 chance for trisomy 18. The only way to know for sure if your baby has this condition is an amnio. Trisomy 18 is considered "incompatible with life"...90% of babies don't even make it to birth--they die within the womb. 95% don't make it to their first birthdays. I am also stressed out and had my amnio yesterday; i figure what happens will happen though. There is a trisomysupport organization online. Just type this in on yahoo--it has been a life saver to me during this time.
I pray that your baby is ok.

I had the same test done around the same time and mine came back positive for down syndrome, I too was extremely petrified . my husband and I were sent to get an ultrasound . The doc said every thing looked normal but there's always a 50% chance that the baby could come out with something wrong. They asked if I wanted an amniocentesis and I refused because that more often can cause a miscarriage. We had our daughter and everything was perfect. Don't be worried unless they know 100% that somethings wrong trust that everything will turn out just fine. And no matter how your child turns out that's your child, you'll love it anyway. Good Luck I send many blessings your way.

Try not to worry about it. I had the same thing happen and it was a false positive. Everything came back fine the second time they did the test and they had also sent me to a high tech ultrasound too and all was fine. They tried to ask me if i wanted counseling and tried to talk to me about abortion, etc...I just ignored them, told them to redo the test and it came back fine.

I had the test done and tested positive as a carrier for cystic fibrosis, but my daughters father wasn't a carrier as well and we both had to have the gene for our baby to have it.my daughter is 2 now and doesn't have a thing wrong with her she's perfectly healthy!!

The tests are not accurate, that's why I chose to skip the test. Don't be worried right now, they will do a follow up test.
