Twin Bale, one was invole in conversation of not tying the harder to escape knot (bad knot), the other Bale doesn't know, so must have been the one that's not in the conversation that was on stage during the accident, he tie the "bad knot". Not knowing that there are two bale, hugh go angry with him for "purposely tying the bad knot and killing his wife".

Love the movie, going to buy the DVD and watch it repeatedly, hahaha...

I liked the special effects. Especiall the electricity.

I did NOT like it when those two guys hurt each other. Sorry, I do not like to see people get hurt.

London is a big city. I did not understand why they were competiting with each other all the time. Instead of trying to do a BETTER transporter man, do something different!! Watch the Illusionist. Now HE had some great magic.

PS It was cool to see Wolverine and Batman in a different movie. And together.

There was a very very short exchange of dialog after the first trick when you weren't sure the wife was the wife. Michael Caine's character mentioned that Mrs. would possibly fall down and break her leg because of the weak knot. Then Bale's character mentioned that he knew of a strong knot. Then Michael Caine's character objected because it was hard to slip.

Mrs. said, I could probably slip it.

The next act, you can see Bale's character starting to tie the knot. Then he stops and looks at Mrs. She nods, indicating her consent. Then Bale's character undoes the knot and ties it differently, as they have mutually agreed she can slip it nonverbally.

Evidently she could not.

Well that is confusing. One way to think about it is, they told the wrong Bale to not tie the knot like that and that is why he didn't know. The other way to think about it is Bale was a magician not an assistant and wanted to make the trick great.

Great movie... and what I'd like to know is if the twin who tied the 'wrong' knot was the twin who was hanged.

And it wasn't assisted suicide. The wife was certain she could slip the other knot.. turns out she was incorrect, but not suicidal.

the friend and hugh jackmans wife were talking about using a different kind of knot than the one they had always practiced. she thought she could slip it, and he didn't want to do the same thing each time, but they didn't know that she wouldn't be able to get out.
by the way, BEST MOVIE EVER
