I am making a card catalog and am having trouble finding dividers for the separate categories. Is there such a thing?

Yes, any office supply, discount store (like WalMart, Target, KMart, etc.) carrie these in two sizes 4X8 and 3X5. They come in packages divided in numbers or blank. Index cards are a great way to stay organized, If you cannot find the blank ones you can always turn the numbered ones backwards and write on them what you are filing. I find it helpful to put a piece of clear (wide) packing tape over the tab especially if you do a lot of filing or flipping through the card file. This keeps the tabs from splitting and getting dirty and worn looking. Plus, if you want to change the categories, just write on another paper and tape over the original.

There certainly used to be, but I haven't seen them lately. Of course, I haven't been looking, either, so they may well still exist. Making your own is simple enough, though. You'll need a few extra index cards, but it's ok if they're the same size as the others. Turn an index card sideways, so the skinny part is now the bottom instead of the side. Measure carefully and draw a line across the card about half an inch (or a centimeter, depending on where you live) higher than the cards turned right way around. (If your cards are 4x6es, you'll turn one sideways and draw a line across it that's about 4-1/2" up from the bottom.) If you prefer having tabs, cut off about half the part that sticks up.

yes there is. You can get them plain or in alphabetical order. I use a recipe box for all my computer stuff, like passwords etc.

I'm sure there is, go to a stationary store, inquire about it. Or just make the dividers yourself, how hard can it be ?, have fun !
