Understandable this is the menopause but curious if the majority of women find that they have a lower sex drive.

While hot flashes are a symptom of menopause, there is no reason to believe that it will also indicate a lowering in sex drive. In fact, many women experience an increase in sexual desire once hitting menopause! It all depends upon the woman.

it's a symptom of menopause.

Menopause is the milestone in every woman's life that marks the end of her reproductive years. When you have had no menstrual periods for 1 year, you have reached menopause. While the average age of menopause is around 50, every woman's body has its own unique timeline. Some women stop menstruating in their mid-40s, and others continue well into their mid-50s.

During the months or years leading up to menopause, irregular menstrual cycles can lead to heavy menstrual bleeding (dysfunctional uterine bleeding). Other common symptoms include mild to severe hot flashes, insomnia, cloudy thinking, headaches, heart palpitations, mood swings, irritability, depression, and anxiety. These symptoms can begin well before menopause and can last for a year or more afterward. Symptoms are different for every woman—some notice few or no changes, while others have severe symptoms that disrupt their sleep and daily lives.

The hot flashes do not happen at 40! It happens during their 50s usually.

Some have a lower sex drive, some don't. It depends on their outlook and how they feel.

Normally, most people think so. However, there has been little evidence to support this theory. Alot of it depends on the woman's hormones, genes, and how healthy both physically and emotionally she is. If the woman is physically and emotionally fit and her hormones and genes are on her side then there should be minimal affects. Good Luck!
