it all depends on how far along you are it maybe the baby kicking or moving around it can also be that the baby is trying to get ready to drop and prepare for delivery it all dependsa on where you are in your pregnancy and where the pain is

if your like 32 weeks or more. time the pain they could be contractions. If they last for more than 30 seconds and come every 5 minutes than go to the ER. I had the same problem and I was only 3cm it went on for like 4 days before I delivered

yeah, it could be a number of things, i wouldn't panic yet. if you are around your due date, you could be begining labor, or if you are early in, it could be something serious or nothing at all. I would suggest calling your doctor eather way if the pain doesn't go away in a bit or gets worse (that would mean it's not just the baby kicking) just to make sure everything is fine. You can never be too careful :)
Best of luck to you and the baby in the future!

I've had pains in my lower tummy kinda like menstrual cramps and it gets really tight but if you tell your doctor they'll just say its normal for your first time pregnacy they tell me every time when you should start to worry is if you have any blood discharge then consult your doctor ad tell. I'm hoping your just feeling the baby moving but if its like cramps sorry i know what your feeling a nice warm bath can help stop it or if you cradle in a ball for a couplle of mins.

a week pregnant ???? there is not any thank you to appreciate you're pregnant after purely a week ..... it takes a minimum of a week for the fertilized egg to related to the uterus ( implantation), or maybe after that, it takes yet another week earlier a women folk realizes she must be pregnant. We regularly don't get any symptoms of being pregnant till a minimum of four-6 weeks later.

It means you check with a physician and not a chat board. No offense but no way for us to help in this regard.
Call your on-call nurse.
