Don't listen to the mundanes or let them try to dissuade you, you can go goth quite easily.

I've seen some utterly stunning black women in the clubs. The dark look works well for them, but what also works is color. Depending on the look you're going for, color can be used to emphasize nicely. I know a black guy who does the cyber-goth look well with brightly colored clothes and makeup. He wraps all sorts of colorful wires and such into his dreads, goes to the fetish edge with PVC and latex. The eyeliner on him doesn't stand out as well because he's quite dark, so he uses paler below it to emphasize, or bright colors.

Many of the Japanese girls who do the Lolita / EGL look are pretty dark skinned as well. Have a look at how they do themselves up and you'll see another way to get the look going.

I know a black girl who does the Victorian Gothic look with metallic makeup, satin corsets and lace, often in colors that would not look Gothic on other girls, but when put into the context of her accoutrement, it works very, very well. She is all that dark, so the dark makeup works for her without using paler first.

I don't know which gothic look you're going for, but have a gander at Gothic Beauty magazine. There's lots of good ideas in there. Just avoid the cheap makeup that makes you look like a clown and you should do okay.

Have fun, see you in the clubs.

If You're More Of A Hispanic Color (No Offense) Use Black Mascara/Eye Liner. Stay Away From Liquid Eye Liner If You Have Real Bad Hand-Eye Cordination. You Can Pull Off Lighter Color Eyeshadows And Eyeliners With Your Skin Color. Like A Marroon,Green,Dark Pink, Dark Red...Stay Away From Black Eyeshadow Though. It May Depend On If You Like Electric Colors...If You Do, Then Aim For Those Too. A Dark Purple Would Look Awesome Too. Hope I Have Been A Help...

Black will work on most people. If it doesn't look right try other smoky colors like different shades of dark gray or even better try a very dark slightly metallic brown with black liner for a very cool look.

Also try different colors for exotic looks. Runway models are great for inspiration. There make-up is often way more artsy.

I'm sure your good at it by now having embraced goth for 2yrs but I'll say it anyway. Ignore the jerks on here. If you like something wear it, do it, be it. The world would suck if everyone did what they thought they should do to "fit in".

You don't have to be pale white to be gothic. I see Goths all around many different colors and the black eye make-up works for all skin tones. The most important part is being yourself if you are dressing and putting make-up on Goth and going all out and you are uncomfortable just do what makes you comfortable.

well im not goth but im more of a punk metal-head & i wear dark makeup even tho my skin is tan (im hispanic)
i pretty much wear the same makeup as a goth besides the white powder. i use lots of black eyeliner, black or red mascara, eyeshadow occasionally, & sometimes dark lipsticks. i'd say that if black eyeliner is noticable on your skin, then use it. if your skin is so dark that you cant even tell you're wearing it, then there's no real point in wearing it then. maybe you could try a cool bloody red mascara. it's fun and stands out and trust me, i get a lot of compliments on it all the time. it's fun because it's not ordinary like other people's makeup.
well i hope this helps :)

You could experiment with lots of different colors and decide what looks best on your skintone. Black, dark brown, and navy blue sound good - I bought a tube of dark purple eyeliner and mascara recently and it looks nice. Some stuff you have to try on before you can tell if it's good for you or not.

Black is an extreme. It will work on any skin tone, even yours. A really close friend of mine that ahs the skin color you're talking about. She wears liquid black eyeliner and heavy eyeshadow. Try M.A.C. pigment in Dark Soul.

w/e you do..do NOT paste your face w/ white paint. try a god eye effect. i LOVE the Eye Of Ra (egyptian sun god)
or, do some design on your own. my friend does dragon wings.

i normally just play around w/ different designs, and see what i like best.

yeah, so don't listen to most of the people above me, saying to not be goth..be goth..its great..just know what goth is ight?
there is nothing wrong w/ being goth. its just a darker outlook towards life and it has a lot to do w/ creativity.
(ok, so that doesn't contribute to your question...but i had to say it.)

Black makeup would look good. I've seen it before. with really dark skin, it doesn't really stand out, and on really white skin, sometimes it looks it bit tacky. From the sounds of it, you are more neutral. Black would define your features well!
