Most places want you to wait until the baby is 3 months old and they want proof that she is up to date on her shots. They mostly check to see if they have had a tetanus shot. Some doctors will actually pierce ears so talk to your pediatrician first, they may tell you not to, but ultimately it's your decision. I chose to have my daughter's ears pierced at three months old and my mom had mine done at 6 weeks(the doctor pierced mine himself). I think little girls look cute with pierced ears and my daughter didn't cry or try to pull at her ears. She didn't even flinch at the sound. She's now 3 years old and loves wearing earrings.

Most places want the baby to be at least 3 months old. I did my daughters at 6 months. Remember to make sure you check the place out before hand look for cleanliness and make sure they sanitize all needles that will be used. Also after her ears are pierced look for any allergic reactions. We found that my daughter was allergic to anything less then 14k. At this age their ears are so sensitive. Also after each bath make sure you dry her ears completely. Bacteria can build up and cause an infection. After the 6 weeks I changed my daughter into small hoops made for babies. Its easier to keep her ears clean and dry. She hasn't had any irritation since.

3 months. My mom hates when baby girls don't have their ears pierced, because they look like boys. I tend to agree...getting your ears pierced doesn't hurt and I think you're better off getting it done when they are younger. I would never pierce my son's ear though; I hate seeing moms with their 4 year old son who has a piercing....that's trashy.

This really depends on the parents. I recommend having them done before they get to the age that they pull at there ears. If they try to play with them while they are healing you can have a problem. I not taking my own advice and following my families tradition had my daughters for her first birthday with no problems. I also think you should wait until she has had her first shots

It's best to have them pierced after the first dosage of shots. (2 months) My daughters's were pierced at 2 months. Most places don't want to do before then, however, they make you sign a waiver before they do, so they really don't care. Be sure to follow the after care instructions.

She can get her ears pierced now. Just make sure you give her lots and lots of loving and kisses after...then quick pierce and the snap of the machine may startle her and she will think she is really hurt...but comfort her and kiss her and she will soon forget...and make sure you do a wonderful job of cleaning and twisting.

I was thinking of doing it at 2 month. My mother had mine done at 21 days old. THe only Advice I had was from the peircer I trust at my tattoo parlour. I was getting a tattoo of my daughter done at 6 weeks post partum. HE monetioned you need to keep the studs on for the 6 weeks to heal. THAT hurts if the child is brestfeeding.
I havent gotten around to doing it now(shes 14 months old) but thinking of getting them done before her second birthday.

AS to the one person who said it bont be centred. WHAT a load of crap. IF its done right as the ear grows the hole will still be in the same place. Mine are centred because they were done by a trained professional

My mom had mine done when I was about 2.5 months. I don't think it matters....in India they pierce a baby girl's ears very early on.

You can go to like walmart or kmart most anyplace with a jewelry counter will do it...you really don't have any certain age some are done with days of being born...unless the store has a policy on it anytime is fine.... the smaller they are the better cause they don't pull on them and they heal faster............
