It's just the size of the earring you've been wearing while it's healing. When you take it out, the hole will look big, but as you replace the piercing stud with other earrings, the hole will adjust. Unless you purposefully stretch it bigger, the hole will shrink (provided you don't wear really heavy earrings) to the size of whatever you're wearing in it ...or even completely closed if you leave it empty.

They pierce your ear with big posts so that you can wear any earring in the future. I don't know how big you're talking, but if it's just the size of the post and isn't red, draining, swollen or sore, then that's just the way a new piercing looks. After you get to the point where you can leave the earrings out for a day or two, I think you'll see that they look less noticeable than right now.

It can be for a number of reasons: (1) If you've had your ear pierced in the same place and let it grow up and the piercer tried to pierce it back in the same place SOMETIMES it will do that.
(2) If the piercing gun (few people use a needle and ice now) wasn't set right, it can happen. (3) Natural ocurrences that happen with wear (ie:accidentially hanging it a little bit on something or tugging it a little too hard) can make the hole bigger. Let the skin grow up a little bit. The size will be normal soon--be watchful so you won't have a "repeat performance" of having to pierce your ear again.

if your earring hole is bigger it could be if your earring is heavy that is what is causing it.
