I love yahoo and everything but they always fall short when it comes to Black entertainment news. I will truly miss Gerald. He was a pioneer and legend in R & B. Please pay your respects here people.

Yes, they should have, ...or maybe the did but it was only shown for a short time so people missed it. Sadly, Yahoo is now part of the propaganda machine we call the US Media. It also could be partially due to his discography as seen in Wikipedia:

RIP Gerald Levert

EDIT: Y! HAS done a piece on him after all!

>>>R&B crooner Gerald Levert dies, 40
AP - 53 minutes ago

NEW YORK - Gerald Levert, the fiery singer of passionate R&B love songs and the son of O'Jays singer Eddie Levert, died on Friday. He was 40. His label, Atlantic Records, confirmed that Levert died at his home in Cleveland, Ohio.<<<

I put that here at 8:21pm Nov. 10, 2006 so you had better read up while you can since Y! won't leave their stories on for very long!!!

Jack Palance also died, they have a story on him as well:

When I heard the news of Gerald's' death from a co-worker, I did not believe it. I just knew that I could go on line at Yahoo when I got home and get the scoop. You have no idea how upset I was when I found info on Brittany's' divorce, but nothing on the death of Gerald. I enjoy the news that I do get from Yahoo, but when a legend dies , rather black or white, I think that is more newsworthy..

I'm glad others feel that way as well. I found out about Gerald's passing here on answers. When I went to my yahoo news page there was nothing there. Then finally after checking different sites Yahoo has it on the news page after about 3 other stories that really weren't necessary.

God called another Angel to come sing in his choir. RIP Gerald Levert

I have only recently came on today and saw the piece prior to logging on to yahoo answers and I also noted that the USA piece was also practically a carbon copy or viceversa, was wondering why there was no mention of his mother just his father and four children briefly. I am assuming there will be more coverage shortly! None the less my sincere heartfelt condolences to his family he will truly be missed and was one of my all time favorite R&B singers! BTW Ed Bradley is also included in that list of very recent deaths he died yesterday my condolences go out to his family also he was a pioneer in Black Journalism!
