Heck if I know. I've never been the best. Those I know who think they are, aren't. And the ones I think are, usually don't think they are. Are we confused yet?

It's great to do your best at whatever you are doing. The problem comes when you start thinking you have to be the best. If you do your best and can be content, that is great. However, people tend to think that they have to prove themselves and meet everyone's expectations. That brings about a mess of anxiety, pressure, stress, and even depression when you are not always the best. If you are trying to live up to everyone else's expectations or even expectations of your own, being the best is not all it's hyped up to be. It just becomes torment.

For me, it isn't. But I'm one who prefers to be behind the scenes rather than in the spotlight. I feel uncomfortable when on display alone, with the exception of being onstage in a play ~ which is only comfortable because the lights are blinding me and because I do love to act :)

No, because that means people will always expect you to be the best and that can put pressure on you.

Yes & no. It feels wonderful & can produce such a natural high that it's indescribable. However, once there....there's a lot of pressure to remain at your peak, & that's very hard.

No! Definitely not... it's overly glorified... once somebody gets there, he/ she will probably be disappointed... Also, peoples' opinions vary on what best is...
