Boys are just as shy as girls. So, smile at him when he looks at you, and, if you get the chance, say hello. If you can, make a compliment about his playing or some he has done. Don't be too forward, it's OK to be a bit shy.
Take your time with getting to know him. Your life is long, so you have time to spend waiting for him to "see" you.
Friends! Friends love to tease, maybe from jealously, maybe from fear of losing you, maybe out of boredom. Just say "whatever" no matter what they say, then change the subject. Under no circumstance should be defend yourself, as they will then continue the attack.
Sun Tzu said that to know your enemy is to know yourself. Never resist the push (teasing), always deflect the thrust ("whatever"), then flank and lead away (change the subject).
This, by the way, works with brothers and sisters, and with parents (except for the somewhat rude "whatever" - with parents, it should be "Please, honorable parent (mother, father) with a small bow and a light smile), then change the subject.
As you get better at it, your life will become less stressful and you will gain respect.
And you don't have to ever lie about anything.
Finally, if all else fails, just smile and keep silent. Mona Lisa has kept her secret for several centuries, and has in the process driven thousands nuts!

Calm down first. Take a deep breath. Okay by the question I can guess your age range, so I'll try to answer accordingly. ehem...
Don't DO anything. Carry on like normal and just go with the flow. If he likes you then he does. If he doesn't it's fine you'll live. Blunt but honest. Good luck! You should be fine don't worry about it.

Yeah, grow some balls!
um.. I don't know what a girl is supposed to do.
In my experience in grade school, they live for subtelty and often I would hear it from their circle of friends first. Usually they wouldn't just blab, but be a careful diplomat who would then take a message back.

This is a major problem? Geez, no wonder I don't understand teens today. Not even I thought that was a problem when I was a teen. Teens have changed all right. Little things are molehills not mountains!

Relax.
Be proud of your crushes. Ain't nothing wrong with that.
They have nothing to make fun of if you just say: yeah, so?
Eventually they will all grow up. Be patient.
