No. Dying can be painful & even when it's peaceful, the process isn't like sleeping. What happens after may well be like sleeping forever, but nothing has been proven yet & everyone can only speculate.

I find it interesting that you relate death to sleeping. according to the description Jesus gave, death is like sleeping. I believe that He was trying to give us an example of the state of mind in regards to "time".
when we sleep, we are not aware of the what takes place while we sleep. We are not aware of what took place during the waking hours prior to falling asleep and we don't think about the events that will take place when we awake. Usually, when I wake up, I feel as though I had just fallen asleep. I don't know how long I have slept. I believe that when we die, We won't be aware of the amount of time that has passed from the time of death to the time Jesus calls the "dead in Christ" to rise from their graves. It is important to know that we do not go to heaven or hell upon death. We are in a state of "death" (no longer in existence) That fact is what make Gods resurrecting power so miraculous! Read Revelations to see what happens when Jesus returns to earth. If we are already in Heaven or Hell when He calls... Then why would He call us from the grave to receive our reward?

Sounds like it when you put it that way.... but according to some psychics ...when you die ...you are still able to see everything that happened in your life and help the ones still alive if they are paying attention....but who knows .... until it happens....
