They said it was a good movie.. i saw it.. i didn't like it .. i didn't understand it.. why do u think this movie is good??

The movie is good on many levels. Just to name a few off the top of my head, you have the good "cop" acting bad you have the bad "cop" acting good. You have a Mob story and a story about redemption. Plus you have Alec Baldwin!!
Another reason why I thought the story was well told is due to it's freshness. If you notice in movies if something original comes out then a few months later you have the clones, i.e. The Illusionist then The Prestige. The Departed has no contenders. The movie is a remake of a 2002 Hong Kong movie called Internal Affairs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infernal_Affairs
Another reason why I also thought the movie was well done is because it's a true tragedy, no "Hollywood" happy ending. If you think about it, a situation as deep as the movie goes can only lead to one type of ending.

I thought it was a great film, apart from the last 10 minutes. The performances were excellent, Matt Damon in particular, with a good storyline. Just a shame about the ending. Lost all credibility there in my opinion.
