I know a great factor is inheritance/trust funds from parents, etc. But what do they do? Are they like Wall Street traders or something? Perfect Example: Kevin (Pam's ex-fiance) from Meet the Parents. There's a lot of people like that around here, but I don't personally know any of them. What career do they get into? What are their typical job titles, and what do they major in in college?

Some people are lucky enough to have family money behind them, but many are real enthusiastic, self motivated go getters. They strive to achieve and do. Some of it comes down to attitude, if you can convince others to believe in you and open their wallet you don't always need the family funds. I imagine if your talking about trading and brokers youre looking at a business degree, and maybe an economics major. That's a personal decision. And you do know meet the parents is a movie and purely based on fiction . Right?

Most of them made a fortune in the eighties and went bust in the nineties. Study something you're good at and enjoy, work hard and you have a far better chance of earning a good salary. Trust funds and lottery wins aside, no one really makes a lot of money without hard work, boring but true.
