Yes and no. If they *know* they are brilliant in their fields (scientists, artists, chefs, etc.) then they may have the attitude that most people are beneath them, and that their talent makes them superior. These are usually people who invest a great amount of time into that endeavor. But if they are well-rounded, then they get the chance to meet intelligent people from areas that they themselves don't necessarily excel in - therefore having more respect for others by being humbled in a way.

absolutely! But they can be trained. My husband has been described as both brilliant and arrogant - by me included. Brilliant people are not always socially adept. They usually just need someone who is down to earth who can show them the way!

Yes, I believe that happens quite often. I have some good friends whom I consider brilliant, and other people tend to look upon them negatively.
