Neo-Con hijackings may have ended the populist coservativism initiated by Barry Goldwater in 1964, Rejuvinated by Ronnie Raygun, and understood by the first Bush (#41). By steering the US Gov't into a Baghdad brickwall will Bush go down as the one who killed the popular myths of conservativism or did he just 'out' their true nature.

Quite the contrary... The dems that were trotted out to run against the most liberal of the republicans were far closer to the center, more "conservative" tha the RINO's they ran against. The far left of the dems would not have been able to pull of the upsets that these moderates accomplished. I doubt you'll see major changes in taxes, Iraq, etc. right away. They know that that a lot of people did not vote for them for what they stood for, but just against what they perceived the republicans had become.. corrupt, immoral, big government, tax breaks for the rich & big business and war mongerers. The dems know if they screw it up, the republicans will be back!

Bush has been far from conservative and if you look at the campaign leading up to 2000 you will see many true conservatives where far from happy with him as the party choice. If you examine Bill Clinton's policy decisions you will find he was much more conservative than Bush has been. Also if you examine many of the candidates elected for the Dems you will find many of them ran campaigns considered very conservative in the past and several of them had strong ties to the republicans in the past. Most of these candidates ran only as Dems. because of the war. If anything this election has caused the Dems to shift to the right and may have caused remaining Republicans to realize they can only win if they talk and act like conservatives and not give into the allures of power. As a side note you may remeber the same thing happened to Bush 41 ocnservatives where never fully behind him and many shifted support to Perot because he talked much more like a conservative. This led to the Republicans formulating a very conservative agenda two years later and smashing the Dems.

not at all, many of the democrats were much more conservitive than the Liberals. and most do agree with a conservative nature.

If the democrats don't adopt a conservative nature they will never hold the majority. The vote this time was a war and Bush, not a conservative issue, you saw this in that all but Ariz passed the family right or no gay marriage bills,

So the democrats had better start going middle of the road or they will soon be back out of power again.

If you are correct then I guess I 'd better get fitted for a burka soon. Since Iran, Al Qaida and Venezuela's Chavez all take credit for the Democrat majorities in Congress,
we'll see how it comes out in another two years. I think you can only have so many marijuana initiatives on state ballots to get potheads to vote in each election, but I could be wrong.

America will always be more culutrally conversative than most countries. Goldwater would roll over in his grave at what bush done because Goldwater belive in small Goverment, and low taxes. Bush belived in Big goverment, low taxes just to generate more money to fund his cronies. Goldwater and Bush are on opposite poles, Goldwater would never allow the Patriot Act, or Millitary Tribunals without oversight like Bush. We would be very upset of spending out of hand and the giveaways to companies period. Bush conversatism can become no different than crony capitialism without checks and balances in place. The republican will rewaken but it needs to clean house, and the democrats were voted in because people like freedom more than secert deals behind closed doors.

It is down on the mat know and we must knock it out, regardless of the rules. It's like football: don't play prevent defense or safe, run-out-the-clock offense when you've got a nice lead. Humiliate these Republican scum and make sure they never get up again.

One thing is for sure, neocon's are destroying the Republican party and Bush isn't a conservative, he is a Fascist!!

Who wants another Bush after this one! Jeb? You mean the guy who was caught cheating on his Mexican wife, the guy who stole the 2000 election and the same one who was involved in the Savings& Loan scandal that cost regular taxpayers 2.1 TRILLION, He was buying 2,5 Million dollar office buildings, he paid 500,000 and we paid 2 Million! Sure, why don't you give him a run!!
