Can vibrators and dildos cause some kind of vaginal infection?

As others have said, it's possible if they're not washed properly. And toys of some materials are more susceptible to infection transmission than are others.

Materials like hard plastic and silicone are non-porous, making it difficult for bacteria to live on them. Moreover, plastic can be washed with antibacterial soap, and silicone can be boiled for sterilization.

Materials like elastomer, rubber, vinyl, "jelly," and cyberskin, on the other hand, are porous, which makes them difficult to clean well. Some toy experts, like those at Toys in Babeland (linked below), recommend that people use condoms over these toys to be safest.

If you are the only one that uses them it is highly unlikely that you could get an infection from their use. It is a simple matter to clean them after use.
