Was it a German neighborhood or Italian. I need to know for my project. Thanks pple who give useful info.

1840s-50s it was mostly German with a lot of Irish and stayed that way until at least 1900. The Germans there were known for their brewery industry (beer). Italians from Southern Italy started coming in around 1900 and by the 1920s and 30s they had replaced most of the Germans.
In the 1950s-70s the neighborhood experienced 'white flight' and the white people left and the blacks and Puerto Ricans moved in.
