I would think so. If you type "feeling blue" in google you will get a whole bunch of websites about depression.

BLUE... is the one I like. I do not see it as a saddest color. For me... the color black is the one, people use it when they going to a funeral.

I would say no. While in English we have the saying "feeling blue" to denote sadness, in a culture so similar to ours as Germany, when someone "ist Blau", that's saying he's totally drunk. Similarly, while we in the West percieve white as a color of purity, Japanese see it as the color of death. Its a cultural thing, associating colors with emotions.

Actually, I read about a study that said blue is calming and relaxing. It is my favorite color and makes me happy.
