Is the key still (properly seated) in the lock? If it is, and the ignition still works when you turn the lock with the "ears" on either side of the key, - it is removeable - without taking anything out! You should be able to see a small hole (I think at the bottom of the lock tumbler face)-- you can insert a paper clip of some fairly hard wire (safety pin - big one) - or whatever you can find that willnot break off under stress! Shove it down hard, and turn the lock backand forth, (while pulling out), - at some point it will come right out of the hole, (and you will then have it in your hand!)
I think the lock "tumbler assembly" costs around $20-30 at auto parts store!

I have taken out several with a thin welding rod, touched on the edge of key, (but not touching sides of lock anywhere), -Take a wire and hook it on positive side of batttery, -- when you have wire properly seated on key, touch the end of welding wire momentarily- (don't hold it very long), as the wire is going to get real hot real fast. This will weld the key to the wire, and if you properly align the switch so that the key can be pulled out, it should pull out fairly easily. This takes in no account for "buggered key" or lock though, - (if it was the wrong key to begin with, it may or may not work!)

If the lock can't be "fixed" this way (or removed from column), - it can be removed by taking off the steering wheel , and all the upper stuff - through(including) the turnsingal switch, - when that is off, you can get ot the "screw" that holds the lock in place.

UNDER NO CONDITION should you remove it with a "slidehammer" like you see it done in the movies! This will ruin the housing, and cost you about $250 or more to get it fixed!

It can be done faily easily with a couple special tools, - if you have a "mechanics mind" and a little aptitude! However I would go and buy a "Haynes auto repair manual" which has step by step instructions for removal and replacenet of ignition lock "tumbler assembly"-- the book will run you probably less than $20 at an "Auto Zone type" store (auto zone has the tools that you can borrow (with a deposit) so that you can do the job too!

wow people can screw up a simple process really easily.
first take the four torques bit screws out of the back of the air bag remove airbag saftey clip for the wiring harness then unclip the wiring to the bag. no u dont have to unhook ur battery for 30 min. next remove the nut that holds the steering wheel on. then make sure u rent a steering wheel puller. lock plate removal tool and have a set of snap ring pliers or mini picks handy. using the puller remove the steering wheel. next use the lock plate removal tool to compress the lock plate spring so u can get to the snap ring holding it in place. remove the snap ring it is around the steering shaft just above the black lock plate. then using a philips screw driver take the four screws off of the multi function switch one for the turn lever three for the switch pull it forward just let it hang it will be ok just be gentle as it is plastic ok. next ur at the lock cylinder turn the ignition if u still can to run postion. then take the lock screw out and then remove the lock cylinder by just pulling on it sometimes u have to turn the key from accessory to run not start but run jockey it back and fourth to losen it up but it should just pull right out installation is reverse procedure. buy a manual for part recognition. its simple u can do it also that mulit funtion switch can cause brake lights and turn signals not to work so if those ever dont work and u put new bulbs in go straight to it. HOPE THIS HELPS

Ok you must remove the steering wheel. If it has a air bag, disconnect the battery at least 30 minutes before removing the air bag. You will need a steering wheel puller( auto-zone)
First remove the horn. Now remover that big nut in the center. Now install puller. Remove steering wheel.
Now you need and anti lock tool to remove the steering wheel lock. This is what stops the steering wheel when you take out the key. Now remove the 3 screws holding the turn signals in place. now remover that 1 screw that holds the cylinder lock in place.
Now pull on the lock and out it will come.

Now that I have tole you how to do it I think you have come to the point where you said this is not a job for me. My advice call a mechanic and have him fix it for you.

You mite be able to get the peace out with a pair of needle nose pliers .
Hope this helps you in some way.

The broker could be waiting to decrease a sparkling key in case you provide them the VIN quantity. A locksmith can pull something component of the main out along with his particular little gadget!!! LOL! yet befor I referred to as a locksmith i might attempt to %. it out with a pin and or a fish hook that is straightened extremely. i'm a bodyshop proprietor and function been effectual that way. make confident that the ignition is interior the liberate place ( comparable place that it would be once you often pull the main out). you will possibly even might desire to drag the lock cylinder out , turn it the different way up and faucet the component of the cylinder gently ( that worked for me earlier too), yet i assume the conventional guy or woman ought to not get rid of the cylinder with the help of themselves!
