Tom Brady is not overrated. How can a quarterback, after 6 years, who is only 28, who has 3 Pro Bowls, 3 Super Bowl Rings, 2 Super Bowl MVPs, a 4,000 yard season under his belt, the 7th highest career passer rating in history (to date, with NO superstar receivers, unlike a certain OVERRATED Peyton Manning, who would do nothing in New England with out his # 1 draft pick recievers) be an average QB? He is not overrated. If it not for Mannings shadow, Brady would be one of the statistical leaders, and it is fine for him to be compared to other quarterbacks in the elite class! Joe Montana never had a 4,000 yard season, even with the best NFL player of all time! Tom Brady is certainly a stellar QB. And for those who say Tom Brady came into New England at the right place at the right time and is just lucky, and compare him to Trent Dilfer (come on!!) here is a website article that will also quiet you. http://archive.profootballweekly.com/content/archives/features_2000/nflist_030501.asp

This is just because I didn't have enough room on the previous section. And, just another tidbit fact: Tom Brady has a better career passer rating than Dan Marino, John Elway, Brett Favre (not putting them down, all great QBs, but just trying to stop people from saying it is a SIN to compare him with them)

wow, down boy! You can't take things too seriously, the only reason people have anything to say about most teams and players is because they are good, think about it, how much time do we spend talking about the cardinals, and the packers, and all those other teams, not much, but as soon as brady makes a mistake or the steelers have an awful season, or chad johnson does one of those crazy lil things chad johnson does, everyones got an opinion. The media thrives on controversy and if brady has one bad game, then they know everyone wants to hear about it. Point is Brady is an outstanding qb, and his stats show that, nuff said

I don't like Tom Brady. Do I think he's a crappy quarterback? Of course not. I know he's one of the best in the league and has done amazing things in his career and will probably do many more. But I agree with what one of the above posters said: he is not nearly as personable as Peyton Manning (the actual reason I dislike Brady is because a few seasons ago he said that the New England Patriots were the most "underrated" team in the NFL...bs!) Peyton Manning is not an average quarterback. He's broken plenty of records. Does he have a Superbowl ring? No. So what? Dan Marino doesn't have one either. Manning lost one of his favorite throw targets last season, and guess what? He's STILL got the 8-0 record. Two years in a row.

I'm not sure where you hear that Tom Brady is called "overrated." Half of the NFL shows practically want to reach out and wipe the man's *** for him. I've heard more stuff about Peyton Manning being overrated than I have EVER heard about Tom Brady being overrated.

I do think what you said though was quite an interesting choice of words: that "if it was not for Manning's shadow, Brady would be one of the statistical leader." Well, guess what. Manning's in the picture. Will Brady get in the Hall of Fame? Yep. You bet. But so will Manning, and it didn't take winning Superbowl rings, having 4,000 yard seasons under his belt, or the 7th highest career passer rate.

This is just my opinion, not a personal attack.

I agree with you that Tom Brady is a great Quarterback, but what I want to throw out at you are some reasons why he lives in Peyton Manning's shadow. Number one, records, Peyton has them, makes the AMAZING throws, and has started 8-0 the past two years. He also seems a more personable guy. I don't know either one of them, but simply because of his charismatic personality in his many commercials, Manning reaches out to fans. The final reason that manning is percieved the better QB is because of the way he runs the offense, the complicated no hudle attach, communicating everything to everyone that needs to be said, pretty much calling the plays and making all adjustments, doing something that has been highly publicized. Now the one thing I am tired of hearing about is the patriots. For some reason I can't really stand them. I think it's the way that they always come across as this whole team unity thing like they really don't care about individual accolades, its about everyone else. It's admirable but it's been beat into the ground by the media. And just like I said about Manning befor having a personality, the patriots have none. Brady is dull, Belicheck is duller than dull, and everybody on the rest of the staff minus the occasional crack by Harrison is as dull as their coach.

Yeah boy....that will shut people up! LOL

If you want people to stop saying that Brady is overrated...do you really think that a post telling us how great Brady is will shut people up? It is post's such as these that add fuel to the fire so to speak.

Of course then you ruin any arguement you may have had by saying that Manning is "OVERRATED". Your post now just sounds like another Pats fan with a man crush on Tom Brady.

BTW...Trent Dilfer and Doug Williams were SB winning QB's also....sooooo....if you do not want Tom Brady compared to them...stop throwing his 3 SB rings out as some kind of proof of how great Brady supposedly is. If SB rings are the mark of greatness...then you must include all SB winning QB's. It is that simple.

You tell them boy! Terry Bradshaw said on a pre-game show a few years back [after someone bragged about Dan Marino].
I am sick and tired of hearing about his records. I have four super bowl rings he has none. This is America, if you don't win it all you have nothing.
So Brady vs Manning is a joke. Brady 3 manning 0. He can toss all the yards he wants and it doesn't mean diddly. I know I am sick of hearing about Peyton and Eli. If I hear one more time what a great QB their dad Archie was I am gonna hurl. The man was fair at best. Any how Brady is not over rated.

I'm glad that you love Tom Brady so much and he is a good QB but to say Peyton Manning is overrated is just crossing the line. Since when is 49 touchdowns overrated? He reads defenses like no other QB and his stats are incredible. He is always working to get better and it shows. And when he finally wins a superbowl, then everyone we'll say he is one if not the greatest QB ever. So shut up! Besides who says Tom Brady is overrated? I haven't heard anyone say that.

Good info there!!! I agree, Brady is called overrated way too much. However, I think that once Manning wins the Super Bowl, he can be and will be considered perhaps the Best QB that EVER played the game.

... I think Brady is a great qb... but I do wonder how he would do in a different system... but you can say that about any great qb ever...

I would rather have peyton though... but brady cracks my top 5 and has done so consistently for the past 3-4 years... and not many others have done that...

Who says Brady's overrated? The media always talk about how the battle for the best QB in the league is just a two-man contest...Manning and Brady. Just as many, or more, say it's Brady as say it's Manning.
